October 31 2016

As most of you know, we don't quite do Halloween with our boys ever since becoming parents. David and I grew up trick or treating and even did so together in high school but something about everything changes when you have kids. It's a controversial topic, and like many, I try and avoid those. I just don't agree with the day being celebrated, even at a church, but I knew some things would change as Noah grew and became more aware of what everyone else was doing. So in our best efforts to "Not totally conform" to this world, we something fun for the boys which included:

  • making treat bags ( filled with goldfish and a couple of candies
  • surprising them with costumes (Babies R Us did us well, Noah's sully costume was $9.25 on sale and Levi's mickey costume was $8.75!) and these I could as dress up attire not just a costume for Halloween.
  • Cooking and baking many pumpkin foods.
  • and watched a couple of "spooky" movies : Toys story terror .
  • Oh! and we took them to the zoo, which had no Halloween festivities but we saw a couple other kids running around in costume, which is totally what I wanted.
Started the morning with some pumpkin pancakes!

He loved them! And enjoyed his fruit as well!

Their treat bags, Obviously found the idea to make these on Pinterest , but I drew the bats out myself.

Happy Camper!

I know that as my children get older they'll want to do more and be a part of what other kids are doing, and maybe we will let them sometimes do some of those things, but for right now that we have the complete control and are able to mold their minds into fine young men, I want to do what we believe is best and safest for them.

My sweet husband surprised us by staying home with us to enjoy the day together! Something I've always wanted! =D

Our little Social Noah, he makes friends everywhere we go!

This Gorilla was grumpy, I got to see him in action pounding on his chest and the doors!

They definitely enjoyed the day at the zoo, and so did we! We love it there!

We went back home and enjoyed watching a movie. I made pumpkin muffins that were Delicious!

And then for dinner, I made stuffed bell peppers with little pumpkin faces! It was fun!

So there it is, what we did on Halloween day. Even though we didn't go trick or treating or parade around everywhere wearing costumes, we kept it fun by keeping busy. Our boys truly had a great day and my heart was full!

HALLOWEEN 2013

I couldn't think of a better title for this post, sorry if you've read this title a thousand times on all the other blogs. lol
On Wednesday we went to a local pumpkin patch to get a pumpkin to carve since we didn't end up getting a pumpkin when we went to take pictures at the Lombardy Pumpkin Patch. I know, who waits until the day before halloween to get a pumpkin?! Apparently we do. =)

I'm  gunna be the cliche mom and say, it DOES NOT get much cuter than this! heehee Love my pumpkin.
This pumpkin patch had a lot going on! From bouncy houses, to a trampoline jump, to rides and a petting zoo! Noah loved it all! I think his favorite is just staring at all the other kids running around and playing. He loved petting the baby goats and tuggin on their ears!

It was fun. We got the a cute fat, small pumpkin that we never ended up carving! Boooo!

Okay so for Halloween, we actually didn't dress Noah up or go trick or treating... I know we're boring.. It was a mix of honestly being broke and I just wasn't sure how I felt about it yet... Do I really want my child to celebrate this? Or should we let him dress up but not trick or treat? I dunno... I think we came to the agreement to let him so he doesn't miss out on fun with other kids but show him the true meaning of halloween and how it shouldn't be celebrated... as long as he is taught the truth I guess.

Anyway, during the day, it was an out and about fun day, just me and baby. We woke up early, played, ate and than I got the blankets on the floor and laid down while he played but he actually ended falling asleep. So while he napped, I blogged, and than I heard him rustling around and he had woken up and this is him peeking at me:

I love it. He's so cute, those little things he does make my day. I love him.

So once we were up and ready, we headed out to the local library. I needed to get a library card since I'm new to this county and turns out I couldn't get one because I am not a permanent resident but the lady at the desk told me I could get Noah a card and I could use it for anything! Ha , so Noah officially has his first library card! I was shocked that with this being LA county the libraries are bigger and they actually let you check out 50 items! Crazy! I'm used  to only being allowed to check out 10 items the most!

At the library we obviously hung out at the children's section and I let Noah play. He loved it. Again, he really loves staring at the "big boys" (3+ year olds).

I checked out a bunch of baby books for him and Lauren Conrad's books for me. (she's my new girl crush. I used not like her back in the laguna beach days but now she's so stylish and cool.)

After the library we went for a walk at the main street. It was pretty dead surprisingly. I didn't see anyone dressed up or anything...

Than we got hungry and Noah asked me to take him to El Torrito... wink wink

I'm not even lying, little mister ate all the rice and most the beans himself! Can you believe it?! Dang!

mama! Give me some!
We went during lunch hours so our meal was fairly cheap, plus chips and salsa! YUM! That was our day. Once David got home from work, we went for a stroll around our neighborhood to see all the kids in their costumes. It was cute! We saw a baby spiderman with big muscles lol . Than we drove to starbucks and called it a night. I Loved it. We had a good day.

How was your Halloween?!

Halloween 2012

Hi everyone! How was your Halloween?! I can't believe it's already come and gone and now onto November! I kept telling myself " okay once Halloween has passed, than its for real, I'm going to have a baby in a matter of no time! " and now look! Hopefully I have Noah by 37 weeks which would mean a month away to meet my little Mr.!!! :-D
So my apologies again for not blogging as much , I'm using my iPhone at the moment due to my lame and outdated laptop charger tearing.. So it'll be a few days before I get a new one so bare with me here for a few unorganized posts. ;/

So this past weekend, on Sunday, we went to our church's early service and afterwards went over to my mom in laws do get some much needed laundry out of the way. ( oh the joys of living in an apartment ) we're lucky to have such sweet parents that let's us use their washers and dryers ha :) later on that Sunday, our church was hosting their annual Trunk or Treat, where church members bring in their decorated cars/ trunks that have games for kids to play and then try give out candy! It's a lot of fun! This year we didn't help out we decided to take our fur baby in his shark costume and walk him around the people for a bit.:) it was fun! Of course he was the talk of the town in his shark suit! Cool kid .
We ran into our sweet friend Kirby an her baby Tatum if you remember I've photographed them for Father's Day and even did her maternity shoot a year ago! Well baby tatum is now over a year old and guess what he was for Halloween?! Rawrrr a dinosaur!!!!

On Monday we finally carved our pumpkins! Well I should say I carved... Boo ... Old man David didn't feel like it and said he didn't have any ideas for carving.. Lame! Ha so I carved mine into an owl! Hoot hoot! I also made pumpkin pie for the first time and it turned out so good! Very tasty!

Yesterday for Halloween, we put Cosby back in his shark costume, painted my huge ol' belly into a fishbowl with a skeleton fish (Noah) in it! We went to my mom's church for their annual Harvest Festival! Everyone got a kick out of seeing my big bare belly painted ! Hahaha it was fun and we got some candy! Who says I can't be a kid when I've got one growing in me?! Hehehe ! Surprisingly it wasn't hard painting the belly, I just used a big mirror to see what I was doing and asked David to outline the fishbowl to make it an even circle. Team work! Ha
Again, old man David didn't want to participate in the festivities so he don't dress up but hey we still had fun!

It was a fun time this year! It's crazy to think next year we'll have a little McDaniels to go out with! Than for sure David will dress up! :) hope you all had a fun eventful Halloween!
