Life is Good!

Life is good! I guess I should do a bit of an update on here since I haven't in a while.
Well I guess I have a sort of praise report.
The last two years were nothing but struggle after struggle. From Miscarrying twins, to us getting a car we don't even like (didn't know any better and bought a car with too high of an interest that we are now stuck with)to being pregnant again (with Levi) David working 2 jobs ( one from 6-4:30 and (pm -4am) to him getting a better full-time pay position and only having one job, to losing his job completely a week before we gave birth to our second son and than getting his old job back at starting wage and not too reliable hours.

Anyway, all that to say that a few months back, David was promoted to becoming a supervisor with a salary! Now , we're doing better, actually have a little bit of something after each paycheck, but let me tell you, we have certainly come a LOOOOONNNNNG way! God has always put the right people in our lives and we've always been okay and we are so incredibly grateful for everyone and all of our family that has blessed us in more ways than one. Everyone's encouragement and advice has truly helped us.

We are currently looking to move into a house  and we still can't afford to buy of course or even rent a big house , but we have looked at a few bungalow style homes with a nice backyard. Our main thing is that it has at least two bedrooms and a backyard and an area for a washer and dryer. Since it's so expensive where we currently live (on the coast, ten min from the beach) we have been looking in further inland areas. And who knows, maybe we won't move and we'll stay in our little two bedroom apartment until we can save enough to move out comfortably. I dunno. For now we are doing what we can and praying about it.

Some assume that we make a lot of money or whatever because I stay home. But reality is, is that we've made a huge sacrifice by me not working to stay home. We can't afford to do many activities and often miss out because of this. But I know that what we are doing is what is most beneficial for our family. I often pray for God to show me his will for me. I've applied to many jobs and have yet to get one and to me that is all for a reason and I'm learning that I need to accept being a stay at home mom and wife. And now that I have , I am happy.

My way of providing financially for our home is to sell things on my favorite app Mercari and I also refinish furniture. I started refinishing furniture back when I was pregnant with Noah and getting his room all set up. I LOVED it. I started doing it again about 6 months ago and we've made a good profit from it. I absolutely enjoy doing that, we just wish we had a backyard or shed to do so.

I know I don't write a whole lot anymore but this was a little update on us. We still have a long way to go to where we want to be but we are so happy right now and we have complete faith that everything will happen in God's time. Not my will but His.

Hope I didn't bore anyone . hahaha

Dating My Man

This past weekend, David surprised me with a date day, just the two of us! We don't get too many chances to go out like we used to. Having a toddler can take a toll, so this date was much needed.

We thought our date day was going to consist of running errands freely without a screaming toddler, but thankfully we were able to get all those errands done before dropping mr. Noah off.

David had planned to take me to watch Heaven is For Real at the discount theater (heck no, we're not paying $30 to watch a movie that we can later enjoy for a dollar or two). So we just barely made it to the 2:30 showing and wow, that movie was so good. It really touched a very tender spot in our hearts and with our recent struggles. I was in tears for a good chunk of the movie. I am definetely going to be purchasing that movie!

one glass... two glasses...
3 & 4.... heehee

After the movie, we were starving! I looked at my Groupon app to see if there were any new inexpensive places to try out and lucked out on finding a local wine tasting with a meal included all for two people for $24!!!

I was so excited when I found this! Neither of us had ever gone wine tasting and my gosh was it a treat! The place was so neat looking and the service was amazing!
Had to take a bathroom selfie in this fun restroom!

I would love to go back soon! After that we went to the mall to make a return and than David insisted on having pie for dessert. I'm not much of a pie person, in fact I don't like it, I don't like cake or frosting... I know, freak of nature, anything chocolate though I will devour in seconds. =)

Anywho, I agreed to go to Marie Callender's  because he was on the verge of tears if I said no (wink wink), and I got a New York Style Cheesecake. I am also not a huge fan of cheesecake but this was actually really good! So much too! I couldn't even eat half of it! It was nice being able to sit with my husband and just talk  and be lovey dovey. We really needed to get back in the groove of making more of an effort with one another and with our marriage. Our marriage wasn't and isn't on the rocks or anything but it was starting to feel like we were becoming that couple that settles into a routine and we were forgetting to be romantic with one another. David is my best friend, I love him to death. We always tell each other everything and I had mentioned a while back that I missed the old young us. The adventurous wild spirits that would date one another and run around stores holding hands and kissing and lay on random beds at Bed Bath and Beyond! Being those crazy kids that went to Toys R Us one time, bought batman masks and ran around the streets screaming and laughing together!

We might not be as wild as we once were but we sure are in love like never before. Our recent life challenges and lessons have brought us closer and we've entered a deeper connection with one another. A key factor for our relationship is focusing more on God so that he can work on us individually and together. I have seen a spiritual growth in my husband and I and I am excited for what God may have planned for our family's future.

This is just the beginning baby,  here's to many more adventures!

Sometimes Things Are best unplanned

Happy Monday everyone!
So on my last post I shared with you that the husband and I were going to go and watch Twilight, well long story short, that didn't happen.. We went out of town ( to use the movie certificates we had) got dinner (delish pizza from a hole in the wall restaurant) and when we arrived at the theater, we stood in line only to have the 2 couples ahead of us by the LAST tickets for the time we wanted to go in! :( rude much?! Ha ! And the only showing left was 10:45 pm which is too late since David had work the following morning! Oh well, we moved on and walked around the mall there. It actually ended up being a great night! We went to Barnes N' Noble and sat in the children's section and tried finding Waldo ! Heehee! We talked about the upcoming weeks and how insane it is that we're going to be parents! Man, it's happening so fast and I can't wait! Anyways we had a great time even though our plans didnt work, but hey sometimes those are the funnest of nights! David was being a goofball all night and had me laughing so hard I almost peed like 5x ( that's pretty normal now haha) I love him! I'm glad to see him more upbeat since the passing of his Grandpa. Please keep him in your prayers.

Thanksgiving is only 3 days away already!!! And something else that isn't going as planned, we found out that David is actually working for Thanksgiving and for Black Friday! :,( he won't be home until Saturday morning which isn't fun, since we had our day all planned ou to be together for the first time on Thanksgiving. Since he started the academy, his schedule is all over the place so we didn't realize this change.. So since he'll be gone for Thursday, I will be cooking up a storm very early Wednesday morning, than we have my prenatal appt. later that day and then he has academy! Phew ! We are going to be busy! On Thursday I plan on going over to my moms and enjoying the holidays with her. I'm excited to cook!

I've been pinning a lot on Pinterest lately , and I'm excited to do a couple of DIY projects and share with you all! Christmas is soon approaching so if you need ideas go on Pinterest and follow me! @susie McDaniels
