Black Friday Haul ( Goodwill)

For Black Friday, we took advantage of having my dad over and David and I hit up a couple of Goodwills just the two of us =) . It felt wonderful to have a little bit of alone time. We weren't gone long, about 2.5 hours and then we were done.  We're still on a very tight/limited budget, with getting ready for baby number 4 we really need to watch where and what we spend on our money on. Fortunately as I mentioned before, I have been doing a good job with selling stuff on my apps and I average 40-80 dollars a week so I use that to get things from the Goodwill. And sometimes I buy things I find there to resell. I have good luck with finding quality and sometimes brand new items at the Goodwills I shop at. So Here I am sharing the finds I found on black friday! EVERYTHING was 50% off from the ticketed price including new things from Target!

1. Ingenuity Dream Comfort Play Pen

I saw this and one other one at my local Goodwill. I was hoping and praying it would still be there on black friday and Thank God it was still there! It was priced at $79.99 so I bought it for $40. Brand new in the box that's a steal! Retails for $139.99 at Target. We haven't assembled it yet or even taken it out of the box but we will in the next coming weeks.
2. Little Green Proheat Carpet and Upholestry Cleaner from Bissell.

Oh my Gosh I have been wanting this little cleaning machine for about 2 years now! It Retails for $99.99 and I can't pay the full price for one product. At Goodwill it was priced at $69.99 so the day of, I bought it for $35! I did notice that on black friday on target.com they were selling it for $49 but I still got the better deal ;).

I already used it and It really does the trick! Benjamin had spilt my coffee on our new rug a few months back and I used this on the spot and it's pretty much all gone. I might do a second cleaning over it to make it look 100% but I'm shocked it worked on an older stain.

3. & 4.

Wondershop Ornaments and Prelit Star Tree topper

We found both these brand new in their boxes priced at $9.99 each. I bought them for $5 each!
The ornaments I found are similar to the ones I'm showing above but a little nicer and on the box Target sells them for $20. They are so pretty! Includes clear ornaments and different sized ones.  Here's how our tree turned out.

Our tree was a curb alert Free find and we are so happy with it! It's beautiful and stands tall at 7.5 ft! We've NEVER had such a big beautiful tree like this !

5. This little red barn decoration

It was priced at $1.99, I got it for $1.  I added the little gingerbread men ornaments on it.

6.  3 pairs of shoes and a hat

The shoes I bought for $1.50 each. All brand new and yes I've already broke them in. The hat I bought for $3.

7. Vintage Steel Hobart Letter cabinet

I don't know what it is about this but I fell in love with it! I found it on Black Friday and it was priced at $29.99 . I decided not to get it. I held off for the next half off day at Goodwill and if it was still there than I would get it. So that's what we did . It's currently in the boy's room full of crafting and teaching supplies but I can't find the right spot for it. It might be one I save to display once we have our very own home.

If you have more than one kid, you know walking and holding hands with your significant other doesn't happen often since one is usually holding a kid and the other is pushing a stroller or running after one. So moments like these I treasure. I love my man so much!

This was while at the Goodwill. I was using my phone as a mirror to see how these sunglasses looked and I got scared because there was a guy smiling back at me through the camera.... it was a poster on the window... hahahaha

My next item I'm sharing is NOT from black friday but I did score at the Goodwill. I found two of the same carseats for $64.99 each. We looked up the reviews and retail price before purchasing and we were shocked!

Benjamin has been sitting in a rear facing infant carseat still and we desperately needed to get him into something safer and more comfortable to suit his growing body. With another baby on the way we figured something that can grow with the baby would be our best best rather than buying an infant car seat and than needing to upgrade in 9 months. Plus with 3 other kids, I don't see myself unloading the baby and carseat anymore. I'll be either holding him or wearing him on a sling. So for less than even the price of one carseat we scored two!

My final item is NOT from Goodwill.  I have been needing a new diaper bag for a while now , I don't know how other parents do it but my diaper bags never hold up longer than a year! The straps break, stains from milk or juices happen and even holes on the inside. I had been eyeing the new fall Fawn Design bags and I've wanted one for a long time but they are not cheap. Good quality a lot of the time  comes with a hefty price tag. They announced their Un black friday sale and listed the bag I wanted at half off. On top of that, they announced they would introduce Afterpay which means you get your product shipped and than make 4 payments to complete the transaction. So I only paid $24 ( and will pay 24 the next 3 weeks) for my bag and the total is about $86. I think it is worth it. They don't charge interest and shipping was free too.

Those were my Black Friday finds, I hope you enjoy!

Goodwill Finds (Baby Edition)

Okay, So currently I'm feeling very overwhelmed . I was excited for this post until I laid out the things I have found at the Goodwill for the new baby in his new ( second hand free find ) crib. I could have sworn I had more to share but realized this is it! Baby boy number four is due soon! I'm 7 months pregnant and getting nervous for the things we need before he comes. But I'm also trusting that we will be okay and baby will have basic needs for sure!

So lets move forward! These are the things I have found for our son since we found out we were expecting. All are brand new Target finds from the Goodwill.

Four pairs of little pants in Newborn size because we hardly have anything in newborn size. And two newborn onesies. I love the prints on the pants =) so cute! Infant clothes is 1.99 unless it's half off day.

I found two unopened packs of size 1 diapers. I've yet to stock up on diapers for the new baby. I know I'm so behind on a lot but I'll definitely need to start buying one or two packs overtime I get diapers for Ben. These were priced at 5.99 a pack.

A Boppy Cover $1.99 ( I still have the Boppy pillow I got from Goodwill when I was pregnant with Noah) Overalls in size 0-3 and swim trunks in size 9 months because I have giant babies, I'm pretty sure these will fit him when he's six months old and we're hitting the beach daily.
Also, my best friend found a super cute head rest (5.99) for the carseat brand new and in the package still. She instantly thought of me because of the cacti on it and bought it for me. I can't wait to use it!

Ben and I

Things we still need:
  • 7 Seater SUV ( I say SUV because I'm allergic to minivans ) wink wink
  • An infant car seat for new baby and a forward facing carseat for Benjamin
  • Blankies
  • Diapers
  • Bottles
  • a Breast pump
We've been blessed so far by finding a crib for free. It's the Gulliver from Ikea in white (since Benjamin is still using his crib and that one transitions into a toddler bed, we want to keep him in it as long as possible. One of my friends also gave us her extra baby mattress to complete the crib! That was awesome!
A high school friend who recently had her second and last baby also blessed us with newborn clothes!  And I do still have clothes from my other boys, I just didn't hold on to a lot because we've moved so much these past 2 years and we never have the storage for baby things so it's almost like starting over this time. I also love to give to my family and friends.

I know not to stress too much about all of the material things. I know everything will fall into place soon. I did make a baby registry on HERE , to get myself organized on what I need/want for baby. A baby shower was in the talks but I'm pretty sure it's not happening.
I'm excited to meet this little guy and of course nesting is in full force! I'll be sharing different things I get for baby in the next few weeks!

October Goodwill Finds (home edition)

I know what you're thinking... "Susie, I thought you were going to not Goodwill anymore to save more money..." I did not keep my word with my strict budget BUTTTTTTT, to be fair, I made some good sales on my selling apps this month and was able to snag a few goodies at the Goodwill.

I'm in full nesting mode here and I just want things to look like I envision and I want a space I can feel comfortable in. Excuses? Probably but here's a look at the stuff I found: ;)

The two faux cacti on the right were Target Clearance finds. I've put those in Noah and Levi's room.
The faux cacti on the left in the grey pots were Goodwill finds. $3.99 each
Childrens books are always my number one thing to look for when I set foot in a Goodwill. They are .79 cents each and even half off on 50%off day. I often look for books that we've recently seen at Barnes n Nobles and I do often find them!

This Black and off white small rug for Noah and Levi's room $7.99

Target Clearance find.

And my absolute favorite find is this little bench. Scored at $30! David actually found this dazzling piece to go perfectly in our room. Since we don't have Benjamin's crib taking up my side of the bed now, this little guy makes the perfect accent in our room. I found the pillow for $2 there as well and we love how it looks! The bench is made from Indian wood and I believe a burlap twine material on top. It's very sturdy. Retail price at Target is $99.

To me, making my home is my pride and joy. Finding the perfect pieces whether big or small make the biggest differences and bring it all together to make our place feel and look good.

Now I've got a few other Goodwill finds but baby stuff I've found that I will share next.

Half Off Day Goodwill Finds!

It is no secret that I am a Goodwill fanatic. With that being said, I am often there looking for a good score of a deal. Since we married, we've been on a tight budget that has only gotten more tight with having kids.
I have about four favorite Goodwill stores that I favor going to. Some are not as close but others are. As I've mentioned before, Goodwill has half off days for everything in the store minus the purple tag items which only get a 25% discount on half off day. Purple tag items are brand new items from Target ( That's how I bought my large farmhouse dining table for $75).

Last night was half off day and even though I didn't have in mind to go this week, I decided last minute to and I'm sure glad I did!

Here are my half off finds:

A cute beach hat! By: Peter Grimm. I had never heard of this hat designer but I sure do love the style! And It's perfect for me because we are always at the beach! Also, how cute is Levi sporting it?! ($2)

Two Brand new in unassembled and in packaging Ikea Sundvik kid chairs in a grey wash. I LOVEEEE the Sundvik designs there and I'm so happy I scored these! The color too is just perfect! $2.50 each

$5
Two water color prints by Carol Jean. I absolutely love this Artist's work. I found one print a few months back and fell in love. Now I found two more and I am beyond thrilled! I don't know much about the artist but the feel of the work is just beautiful . It's like a peak into what I'd like my home to look and feel like.
$4

This one pictured above is that first one I found, a few months back.

A Clock ! Perfect for us to teach our kids to read time! .50 cents!

A wall hook to hang up mops and brooms! I recently saw a plastic one of these for $30 and loved it. Even better, this one is metal and was only $4!

Cute brand new baby Gap jacket for Benjamin for $1

And vest for me! I've been loving how vests look lately, and loved this one. I don't remember how much it was but I'm sure not more than $3. And its by Hugo Boss. Fancy stuffs. ;)

That's it for my Goodwill finds! Hope you all enjoy!
